Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in culinary or food service preferred
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and therapeutic diet orders
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • Must pass a criminal background check according to Minnesota Department of Human Services guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents and understand their special needs
  • Must qualify for employment after a criminal background study per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services

Job Duties

  • Prepare, serve, and be responsible for the preparation of foods for residents, guests, and employees
  • Work under direction of Culinary Services Director and coordinate with interdisciplinary team
  • Increase residents' acceptance and compliance especially among those with therapeutic diet orders
  • Promote food service standards through cost, quality, and quantity control
  • Provide meal service that meets the desires of residents with choice and dignity
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
