Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary experience in a hotel environment
  • Basic knowledge of pastry preparation
  • Ability to lead and supervise culinary staff
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a hotel kitchen, particularly in pastry
  • Ability to work across various kitchen stations including specialty restaurants, banquet, saucier, and butcher
  • Basic pastry skills
  • Leadership capability and desire to pursue advancement in culinary roles
  • Strong passion and excitement about food
  • Knowledge of food safety and storage procedures

Job Duties

  • Direct and oversee line level colleagues on culinary tasks and performances
  • Check quality of finished food products
  • Utilize proper knife skills
  • Ensure efficient preparation methods and procedures in the pastry shop
  • Receive products from the storeroom
  • Utilize proper storage procedures per Chef de Cuisines guidelines
  • Prepare daily specials
  • Ensure proper amount for needed food preparation
  • Support in supervision, training and development of the culinary team
  • Assist in monitoring payroll cost and overtime
