Job Requirements
- Minimum one year experience in a similar kitchen or culinary role
- Culinary school attendance preferred
- Experience with food preparation, cooking and presentation
- Experience in hiring, training and supervision preferred
- Knowledge of food inventory and cost control
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs unassisted
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to follow food safety standards
- Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a similar position at a hotel or restaurant
- One year of culinary school preferred
- Experience in hiring, training, supervision, forecasting, and cost control preferred
- English speaking or bilingual
- Ability to work at all kitchen stations
- Ability to make timely, effective decisions
- Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work
- Ability to maintain good team member relations
- Dependable
- Ability to direct and correct kitchen team performance
Job Duties
- Report directly to General Manager
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Assist with work schedules plan and forecast staffing and food production needs
- Assist with monthly inventory deadlines for accounting
- Review forecasting to align food inventory needs
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers
- Maintain quality of food and develop team skills to elevate food standards
- Inspect kitchen equipment and communicate deficiencies
- Maintain compliance with county health department and EcoSure standards
- Manage food costs within budgeted projections
- Attend required meetings and communicate information daily
- Aid other kitchen team members and departments for overall kitchen performance
- Prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, and proper storage
- Use personal protective equipment when handling food and cleaning
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Prepare foods for Grab & Go station
- Test foods for safety and update temperature logs
- Monitor food quality during preparation
- Set-up and break down workstation
- Serve food in proper portions
- Check appliance and food temperatures
- Create and serve coffee bar beverages
- Prepare, stock, and serve small breakfast items
- Maintain clean bar areas and equipment
- Routinely clean and upkeep espresso machines
- Adhere to food safety requirements
- Stock coffee, tea, beverage items and prepare for next shift
- Attend brand training
- Report missing or damaged articles to Housekeeping Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
