Job Requirements

  • Minimum one years experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Servsafe certification

  • Ability to exert physical effort to transport up to 55 pounds

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, standards
  • Correctly maintain and use equipment
  • Use equipment only as intended
  • Maintain positive coworker relations
  • Be familiar with all hotel services, features and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries
  • Help resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation, health regulations and hotel requirements
  • Meet with Sous Chef or Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and important information
  • Complete opening duties including cleaning hands frequently, setting up workstation, establishing mise en place priority, inspecting cleanliness and readiness of tools and equipment, checking production schedule and starting prep work
  • Inform Sous Chef or Chef of shortages
  • Assist operations to ensure optimum guest service
  • Maintain proper storage procedures
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost control
  • Inform Sous Chef or Chef of excess items
  • Disinfect and sanitize worktables before use
  • Assist supervisors during service for cooking and presentation
  • Transport dirty pots and pans to pot wash station
  • Direct and assist Stewards for efficient cleanup
  • Breakdown workstation and complete closing duties including proper food storage and rotation, cleaning food prep areas, restocking depleted items
  • Review work status with senior kitchen staff before leaving
  • Help with mise en place, production and service time cooking
  • Perform all other assigned duties
  • Respect all safety and health regulations at all times
