Job Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Minimum three years’ experience supervising or cooking in a professional kitchen
- ServSafe certified preferred or will obtain within six months
- Associates degree from an accredited institution or equivalent applicable work experience
- Ability to cook tasteful meals with attractive presentations
- Ability to instruct culinary arts through hands-on demonstration
- Ability to communicate clearly and promote teamwork
- Ability to work with diverse groups treating all with dignity and respect
- Knowledge of food safety and handling practices
- Valid Colorado driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand, reach, bend, and carry frequently
- Maintains a Christ-centered and compassionate attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum three years experience supervising or cooking in a professional kitchen
- ServSafe certification preferred or obtainable within six months of employment
- Associates degree or equivalent applicable work experience
- Affiliation with American Culinary Federation or National Restaurant Association a plus
- Previous experience working with homeless, addicted, or mentally ill preferred
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and aligns with SRM's Statement of Faith
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Extensive cooking knowledge and hands-on experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Valid Colorado driver’s license
Job Duties
- Assist in the training of SRM Culinary Arts students through SRM work initiatives
- Minister to and encourage the growth and development of students, residents and shelter guests
- Facilitate teamwork, time management, and problem resolution
- Prepare meals through culinary arts training to serve SRM guests, clients and residents
- Train and oversee various levels of volunteers
- Communicate effectively and cheerfully with unpaid staff members
- Ensure proper use, cleaning, and storage of equipment
