Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Several years of experience in cold food preparation
- Proven management experience
- Strong culinary skills in cold food techniques
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
- Food handler's license if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Several years of experience in cold food preparation including fine dining or line experience
- Proficiency in slicing, carving, piping, and forming cold dishes such as pates, terrines, and salads
- Experience in staff management including planning, organizing, and coaching
- Good communication skills for managing staff and interacting with other departments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in culinary arts is beneficial
- Food handler's license depending on location
Job Duties
- Manage cold food production including salads, sandwiches, and artistic displays
- Supervise and train pantry staff including assigning duties and monitoring performance
- Ensure all dishes meet quality standards and comply with sanitation and safety procedures
- Monitor food usage, control wastage, and manage inventory to keep food costs within budget
- Collaborate with head chef on menu planning, ordering supplies, and negotiating prices
- Recruit new pantry staff
- Maintain compliance with USPH and other health safety standards
