Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in cold food preparation
  • Proven management experience
  • Strong culinary skills in cold food techniques
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Food handler's license if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in cold food preparation including fine dining or line experience
  • Proficiency in slicing, carving, piping, and forming cold dishes such as pates, terrines, and salads
  • Experience in staff management including planning, organizing, and coaching
  • Good communication skills for managing staff and interacting with other departments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in culinary arts is beneficial
  • Food handler's license depending on location

Job Duties

  • Manage cold food production including salads, sandwiches, and artistic displays
  • Supervise and train pantry staff including assigning duties and monitoring performance
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality standards and comply with sanitation and safety procedures
  • Monitor food usage, control wastage, and manage inventory to keep food costs within budget
  • Collaborate with head chef on menu planning, ordering supplies, and negotiating prices
  • Recruit new pantry staff
  • Maintain compliance with USPH and other health safety standards
