Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or related supervisory role preferred
  • ability to work full-time including nights and weekends as needed
  • willingness to complete sanitation certification if not already certified
  • basic math skills
  • strong communication skills
  • physical ability to perform job duties including standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
  • must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year
  • knowledge of operating an efficient cost-effective program
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • maintain emotional control under stress
  • ability to resolve interpersonal situations
  • strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production packets
  • direct daily activities
  • maintain food production ensuring safety and quality according to policies and department requirements
  • ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment
  • maintain all serving schedules and ensure food items are served per menu specifications safely
  • maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes
  • maintain accurate inventory weekly
  • prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production
  • supervise and evaluate employees promoting growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
  • maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
  • train and mentor other food service workers
  • maintain equipment maintenance logs
  • complete food safety and temperature logs with corrective action
  • perform preventative maintenance checklist
  • recommend equipment replacement
  • proficiency in multitasking
  • perform other duties as requested by Food Service Director or Manager
  • fill in for absent employees
  • maintain knowledge of daily catering events and ensure timely preparation and delivery
  • work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • attend food service meetings with staff
  • maintain staff communication including office staff, email, phone, and inter-office mail
  • perform cashier duties as needed
  • promote good public relations
