Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited culinary program
  • Ability to commit to the duration of the externship
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the country

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited culinary program
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in assigned stations
  • Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
  • Keep workstations organized, sanitized, and stocked with necessary ingredients
  • Ensure timely completion of mise en place, food prep, and set-up for service
  • Follow strict food safety guidelines and maintain ServSafe, EcoSure, and health department standards
  • Properly store, rotate, and label food items to ensure freshness and safety
  • Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to support day-to-day operations
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth service flow
  • Monitor the quality and appearance of plated and buffet items
  • Alert supervisors to any potential quality issues
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment before, during, and after shifts
  • Ensure all kitchen tools and equipment are maintained and properly stored
  • Participate in the training and learning process, with the opportunity to rotate through different culinary outlets and expand skill sets
