Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Active physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
  • Ability to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • Available to work indoors with occasional outdoor events
  • Good physical and mental health verified by recent health screening
  • Freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis verified upon employment and annually
  • Criminal background clearance required

Job Qualifications

  • Formal culinary, food service, or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory/management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, training, and supervisory skills
  • Proficient in written and oral communication with management and staff
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel for document creation and data management
  • Ability to send, receive, and forward emails
  • Experience in senior housing or a related field preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Oversee culinary department to ensure consistent five-star service
  • Ensure food preparation meets culinary standards and provides exceptional dining experiences
  • Develop seasonal and mainstay menus based on resident preferences using fresh ingredients
  • Manage portion control and minimize food waste
  • Lead, train, and supervise culinary staff to maintain high performance and engagement
  • Coordinate with management and support staff through effective communication
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
