Job Description

Pillars of Prospect Park is a vibrant senior living community located in Minneapolis, MN, conveniently situated near the light rail transit station and metro bus routes close to the University of Minnesota campus. Opened in 2020, this community consists of 133 independent living apartments, 106 assisted living apartments, and 44 memory care apartments. Job Requirements

  • One to three years experience
  • performance management skills
  • working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications
  • Food Protection Manager Certification issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) issued by State of Minnesota for locations in MN

Job Duties

  • Plans and manages all aspects of dining services operations including following corporate menus
  • manages inventory and food supplies budget
  • assists with planning and developing menus for upcoming week
  • prepares and/or oversees food preparation ensuring proper sanitation and food handling techniques
  • makes substitutions and revisions as necessary to accommodate special dietary needs of residents
  • maintains storage area and inventories
  • ensures kitchen and storage areas are clean and orderly
  • places orders through online ordering platform and processes purchase orders and invoicing
  • properly cooks foods to specified temperatures
  • ensures products meet temperature and quality standards
  • follows standardized recipes and portioning guidelines
  • assembles food within specified time frames
  • provides timely production and meal service
  • prepares bakery items per standardized recipes
  • completes daily preparation sheets accurately
  • assists with special events
  • prepares texturized diets utilizing IDDSI standards
  • sanitizes equipment and work area after use
  • maintains clean work area attitude
  • hires and supervises dining staff
  • ensures new employees are properly trained and oriented
  • provides ongoing performance feedback
  • conducts 90-day and annual performance reviews
  • promotes teamwork among employees
  • ensures dining area is clean and inviting
  • welcomes residents and encourages socialization
  • solicits resident feedback and suggestions
  • responds professionally to complaints
  • accommodates resident requests such as substitute foods and seating changes
  • works with residents and families to plan private gatherings
