Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food handlers certification equivalent or higher preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered
  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities
  • Must pass a background check
  • Can lift 25 pounds or more independently

Job Qualifications

  • Food handlers certification equivalent or higher preferred
  • Basic culinary and knife cut skills
  • Basic baking skills
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and current Windows programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to immediate needs
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and understanding
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities

Job Duties

  • Assist in production kitchen with food flow from receiving to serving guests in banquet events
  • Follow standard operating procedures for storing, cooking, cooling and reheating food
  • Fill out daily logs on temperatures for walk in coolers, freezers, and cooking or cooling foods
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness by following sanitary practices and cleaning work areas
  • Assist with event execution as directed by chef de cuisine, including reheating or cooking food from scratch
  • Support classroom food needs related to catering, such as snack preparation or food pairing with lectures
  • Use wide variety of cooking techniques including knife cuts, butchery, baking and dessert production
  • Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned
