Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food handlers certification equivalent or higher preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered
  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities
  • Must pass a background check
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more independently
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation basics

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food handlers certification equivalent or higher preferred
  • Basic culinary and knife cut skills
  • Basic baking skills
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and current Windows programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to respond immediately as needed
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and understanding in various situations
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities

Job Duties

  • Assist in the production kitchen with the flow of food from receiving to serving to guests in banquet events
  • Follow standard operating procedures for storing, cooking, cooling, and reheating practices in the kitchen
  • Assist with filling out daily logs on temperature for walk-in coolers, freezers, cooking and cooling foods properly
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by following sanitary practices and policies
  • Assist with execution of events by reheating food or cooking from scratch depending on event food order
  • Help with classroom support food needs including snack food or pairing food with class lectures
  • Assist with a wide variety of cooking techniques, knife cuts, and butchery following recipes when provided
  • Assist with dessert production for events
  • Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned
