Job Description

The Town of Andover Robb Center is a vibrant community hub located in Andover, Massachusetts, dedicated to serving the senior population and adults living with disabilities. This center operates a full commercial kitchen and offers various meal programs including Home Delivered Meals, congregate lunches, and catering for special events Monday through Friday. Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an academic culinary program
  • Must meet high school's GPA requirement for co-operative education program
  • Successful completion of sanitation standards training
  • Ability to work 20 hours a week based on business needs and internship requirements
  • Familiarity with quantity cooking and industrial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to keep accurate records and complete basic order forms
  • Ability to follow health and other food service standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Pursuit of a high school diploma
  • Two years experience in a culinary vocational education program
  • Students under the age of 18 must have a Cooperative Education Employment Permit
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified or ability to obtain certification within two weeks

Job Qualifications

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an academic culinary program and provide appropriate documentation
  • Meet high school's GPA requirement for co-operative education program
  • Successful completion of sanitation standards training
  • Must be available to work 20 hours a week based on business needs and internship requirements
  • Familiarity with quantity cooking and industrial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to keep accurate records and complete basic order forms
  • Ability to follow health and other food service standards as directed
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and participate as a full member of the Senior Center staff
  • Pursuit of a High School diploma
  • Two years experience in a culinary vocational education program
  • Students under the age of 18 are required a special Cooperative Education Employment Permit
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified, or have the ability to obtain certification within the first two weeks

Job Duties

  • Work cooperatively with Robb Center staff and volunteers to plan, prepare daily meals and special events
  • Work cooperatively with Meals on Wheels staff or volunteers to achieve smooth operation of the MOW program as it relates to the cafeteria
  • Assist with preparing weekly CafÚ specials and catering orders ensuring timeliness of orders
  • Maintain highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen cafeteria
  • Receives supplies and food orders and assists in properly dating and stocking freezer and storeroom
  • Maintains organized and clean storage areas rotating stock as necessary
  • Assist with serving congregate lunch when volunteers are unavailable
  • Working with the Manager, learn to perform record keeping and menu preparation
  • Perform related duties as required
