Job Requirements
- Able to sit for long periods in a shared office environment
- Able to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions
- Able to answer telephones
- Computer and keyboard skills
- Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements
- Able to maintain near 100% accuracy in processing patient meal orders
- Able to describe menu items and diets
- Able to problem solve software and printer malfunctions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 to 2 years of call center experience preferred
- Keyboarding skills preferred
- 1 to 2 years of customer service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to describe menu items and diets clearly
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills
- Knowledge of patient privacy standards and HIPAA regulations
Job Duties
- Answer inbound room service calls from patients, families, and staff
- Make outbound calls to patient rooms as needed
- Use "Meals Your Way" program to order patient food ensuring diet order compliance
- Maintain computerized patient diet order information and process reports
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff using appropriate scripting
- Utilize EPIC and VST systems for placing, reviewing, and screening meal orders
