Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Minimum 6 years experience in baking at a 4 star hotel or restaurant
  • Certification in CPR
  • Food handling certificate
  • Ability to exert physical effort to transport up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to endure various physical movements
  • Ability to reach 7 feet
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours during work shift

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Maintain correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Prepare and bake breads, breakfast pastries, cookies, and other baked goods according to quality standards and specifications
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas and equipment
  • Assist Pastry Cooks to ensure optimum guest service
  • Perform opening and closing duties including setting up and breaking down workstations
  • Monitor inventory levels and inform Pastry Chef of shortages or excess items
  • Produce banquet and buffet centerpieces and prepare room service amenity orders
  • Adhere strictly to health and sanitation guidelines
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost controls
  • Ensure all baked goods are attractively presented and properly stored
