Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts as needed
  • Commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions
  • Positive attitude toward working with seniors
  • Capability to handle physical aspects of meal preparation and service
  • Flexibility to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and food handling standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a respectful attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and meal service duties
  • Reliable and punctual work ethic

Job Duties

  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • Follows portion control size standards
  • Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
  • Monitors daily menu items to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
  • Operates dish machine according to directions
  • Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
  • Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
