Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work varied shifts as needed
- Commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions
- Positive attitude toward working with seniors
- Capability to handle physical aspects of meal preparation and service
- Flexibility to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and food handling standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and a respectful attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and meal service duties
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
Job Duties
- Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
- Follows portion control size standards
- Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
- Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
- Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
- Monitors daily menu items to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
- Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
- Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
- Operates dish machine according to directions
- Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
- Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
