Job Description

We are currently seeking a part-time Culinary Assistant / Server to join the Nutrition and Culinary Services team at the Care Center within our south Moorhead community. This position requires availability to work from 6:15 AM to 2:15 PM, including every-other-weekend and holiday rotations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to work part-time hours including early mornings, weekends, and holiday rotations
  • ability to follow sanitary and safety guidelines strictly
  • capability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • good communication skills
  • reliability and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
  • knowledge of sanitary food handling procedures
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • willingness to work early morning shifts and weekends
  • basic food preparation skills
  • commitment to a respectful and cheerful attitude towards residents and coworkers

Job Duties

  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • follows portion control size standards
  • thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
  • monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
  • operates dish machine according to directions and pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
  • assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
