Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to work part-time shifts from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM including every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
- Must be able to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food service
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate and cooperate with others effectively
- Basic understanding of sanitary and food safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions and operate kitchen equipment safely
- Strong organizational skills to plan and manage work schedule
- Friendly and respectful attitude towards residents and co-workers
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as part of rotation
Job Duties
- Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
- Follows portion control size standards
- Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
- Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
- Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
- Monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
- Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
- Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
- Operates dish machine according to directions, pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
- Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
