Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM including every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to follow all food safety regulations
  • Reliable transportation to the workplace
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Strong customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow sanitary and safety practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment properly and safely
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail in food preparation and service
  • Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management

Job Duties

  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • Follows portion control size standards
  • Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
  • Monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
  • Operates dish machine according to directions
  • Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
  • Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
