Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred, but not required
  • ability to work part time 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. including every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
  • ability to follow sanitary and food handling standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • good communication and cooperation skills
  • ability to work respectfully with residents and team members

Job Duties

  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • follows portion control size standards
  • thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
  • monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
  • operates dish machine according to directions. Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
  • assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
