Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior food service experience preferred but not required
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
  • availability to work part-time hours including every-other-weekend and holiday shifts
  • basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • offer and serve menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • follow portion control size standards
  • thoroughly clean and sanitize all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • operate equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • prepare various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director or Culinary Cook
  • monitor daily menu items to verify all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • store leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • organize and plan work schedule to meet times for serving
  • operate dish machine according to directions, pre-soak and sort dishes and utensils
  • assist in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in proper areas
