Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- One year of related experience
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compliance with MATC policies and safety standards
- Availability to work up to 19 hours per week between 10AM and 6PM Monday to Friday
Job Qualifications
- Compliance with all state, federal, accreditation standards, and MATC policies and procedures
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- One year of related experience
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment usage and basic knife skills
- Familiarity with personal hygiene and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with independent work capability
- Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to complete online mandatory in-services
Job Duties
- Assists and/or prepares customer orders including eggs, grill items, fryer items, and kitchen prep
- Ability to follow recipes and use electronic recipe databases
- Assists and performs food prep including cleaning, peeling, cutting vegetables, mixing ingredients, sandwich preparation, and food display
- Prepares food for distribution including plating, servings, and maintaining serving line selections
- Provides customer service excellence, addresses concerns and complaints, and performs problem resolution
- Replaces stock regularly on a daily basis
- Assists in setup and/or cleanup of catering requests including maintaining carts, buffets, and tabling catering functions
- Delivers catering orders to designated rooms across district locations
- Relays orders and messages as required
- Establishes and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators
- Enters product deliveries into inventory tracking system and assists in inventory counts
- Cleans dishes, trays, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools and performs routine cleaning
- Cleans tables and food service areas
- Practices honesty and adheres to strong ethical principles
- Collaborates in instruction of culinary students and student workers
- Performs related duties as required for division operation and institutional support
