Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • availability to work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shifts including every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to dishwashing and meal service
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • reliable and punctual
  • capable of performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in server, dietary, restaurant, nutrition, and/or food industry work
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
  • ability to follow sanitation and portion control standards
  • ability to operate kitchen and dishwashing equipment safely
  • ability to work as part of a team under supervision
  • positive and respectful attitude towards seniors
  • previous experience in culinary or dietary services preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
  • follows portion control size standards
  • thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
  • operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
  • prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
  • monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
  • stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
  • organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
  • operates dish machine according to directions
  • pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
  • assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
