Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- availability to work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shifts including every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to dishwashing and meal service
- ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- reliable and punctual
- capable of performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Job Qualifications
- Experience or interest in server, dietary, restaurant, nutrition, and/or food industry work
- ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
- ability to follow sanitation and portion control standards
- ability to operate kitchen and dishwashing equipment safely
- ability to work as part of a team under supervision
- positive and respectful attitude towards seniors
- previous experience in culinary or dietary services preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
- follows portion control size standards
- thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties
- operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
- prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook
- monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
- stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
- organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving
- operates dish machine according to directions
- pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
- assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
