Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of cooking experience in a high-volume food establishment or completion of a culinary vocational training program
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 25-40 lbs, standing for extended periods, kneeling, bending, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands
  • Valid PA criminal background clearance

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of cooking experience in a high-volume food establishment or completion of a culinary vocational training program
  • Excellent culinary knife skills
  • Ability to scale recipes for various batch sizes
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and management with professionalism and respect
  • Culinary program certificate preferred
  • 3-5 years of high-volume food service experience preferred
  • Serv-safe certification preferred
  • Food allergen knowledge or certification preferred
  • Valid PA driver’s license preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to a diverse clientele
  • Perform start up duties including plugging in and setting cooking equipment to proper temperatures
  • Prepare food items such as grilled foods, deli meats, and salads according to specifications
  • Follow directions from the shifts lead cook for meal production
  • Wash and sanitize produce thoroughly
  • Label products with name, prepared date, and use by date
  • Store food correctly in refrigerators or freezers
  • Maintain knowledge of food product quality and safety standards
  • Ensure food is cooked and prepared according to recipes and portion sizes
  • Evaluate food quality by tasting
  • Cut, trim, bone, and carve meats and poultry
  • Assist in other kitchen areas as needed
  • Follow all food safety HACCP requirements
  • Maintain a professional and clean appearance
  • Manage inventory of food supplies
  • Prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area in accordance with ServSafe standards
  • Prepare hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas neatly and timely
  • Memorize and understand menu items and recipes
  • Use the grill at full capacity managing multiple orders with consistency and quality
  • Be aware of production needs across all areas including catering and residential dining
