Job Requirements

  • Must meet one of the following qualifications: any bachelor's degree or higher and two years professional experience
  • any associate degree and six years professional experience
  • combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • professional experience must be directly related to teaching assignment if possessing a master's degree
  • commitment to equity and diversity
  • ability to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diverse student and staff backgrounds
  • reside within commuting distance to Orange County
  • submit all academic transcripts showing qualifications
  • submit foreign degree evaluation if degree obtained outside the United States
  • complete all equivalency questions thoroughly if applying based on equivalency

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with two years professional experience
  • associate degree with six years professional experience
  • combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity

  • experience related to culinary arts or food technology instruction
  • familiarity with distance education methods
  • effective communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Teach classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines
  • prepare and provide students with course outlines, materials, and lectures
  • help develop and measure learning outcomes when requested
  • assess student performance and maintain grade records
  • report assessment data on student learning outcomes and administrative outcomes
  • utilize assessment results to improve teaching and learning
  • maintain professional conduct and ethics
  • keep current knowledge in subject matter areas
  • follow college and district policies and procedures
  • complete all reporting deadlines on time
  • submit required documents promptly
  • use current technology and learning materials
  • maintain regular and sustained contact with students in distance education
  • teach scheduled classes at assigned locations
  • meet workload obligations
  • maintain accurate records
  • participate in curriculum review and program development
  • handle assigned classes during day, evening, weekend, online, and off-campus
