Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
- Must hold or be eligible for a Technical and Professional License with a Culinary Arts endorsement
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to participate in professional development and district training
- Commitment to upholding school policies and student behavior standards
Job Qualifications
- Five years successful experience as a Head Chef or equivalent
- Catering and/or restaurant experience
- Previous teaching experience in similar setting
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
- Must hold or be eligible for a Technical and Professional License
Job Duties
- Demonstrates mastery of content area
- Prepares daily instruction and activities using the division's curriculum to assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request of the supervisors
- Assesses students' learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs
- Develops summative tests of students' learning and uses results for further student instruction, grading, and placement
- Develops and maintains a favorable psychological and physical environment that is conducive to effective learning
- Maintains order and encourages students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior within the classroom setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding pupil behavior management
- Selects and utilizes materials appropriate to the students' instructional levels
- Organizes learning activities to achieve specific concepts
- Attends and participates in district level in-service training programs, faculty and department meetings
- Establishes friendly and cooperative relationships between the home and the school
- Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relations with others
- Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence
- Respects the home responsibility of parents for their children
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the school division's policies and practices
