Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience
- Associate degree and six years of professional experience
- Demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities
- Degrees and credits from accredited institutions
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of and commitment to the California Community College mission
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience
- Associate degree and six years of professional experience
- Current Food Safety Manager Certification such as ServSafe
- Proficiency with instructional technologies such as Canvas
- Experience teaching restaurant lab classes, culinary theory, and foundational culinary courses
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to mentor and support diverse learners
Job Duties
- Teach culinary arts courses including restaurant labs and culinary theory
- Develop and update curriculum across multiple delivery modalities
- Mentor students on career pathways and professional readiness
- Manage culinary labs including inventory, ordering, and food safety compliance
- Participate in departmental and college committees and events
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Engage in recruitment and articulation activities with local educational institutions
