Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven cooking experience in a relevant setting
- Valid food safety certification
- Culinary school certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Strong communication skills
- Physical stamina for kitchen duties
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cooking including restaurant cook or kitchen helper experience
- Food safety certification required
- Certification from recognized culinary school
- Excellent understanding of varied cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in task execution
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to perform duties associated with the role
Job Duties
- Prepare, precook and/or cook food products according to directives
- Prepare mise en place including foods, garnishes, sauces, plates, utensils for high volume production
- Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures
- Label, date and store foods and beverages in appropriate storage areas with proper rotation
- Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational services
- Report maintenance needs, broken equipment or accidents immediately to supervisor
- Perform other assigned tasks as required
