Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education certification training and/or experience
  • Must have receptionist or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
  • Excellent customer service skills providing courteous and prompt assistance
  • Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities
  • Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to answer and transfer phone calls and deal with clients
  • Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing walking climbing and lifting animals up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service in person over the phone and during high-stress situations
  • Manage lobby flow address concerns calm distressed owners and schedule appointments
  • Handle basic medical emergencies for pets and owners ensuring safety and well-being
  • Assist with medication pickups inquiries and provide information about services and products
  • Input and manage data in practice management software including billing and accounts
  • Assist with retail sales weigh pets process faxes and maintain records
  • Reconcile cash drawer and perform end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions
