Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current North Carolina State Paramedic certification
- current certification as a Critical Care Provider
- FP-C or CCP-C certification through BCCTPC within one year
- current certification in International Trauma Life Support or equivalent
- current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- valid North Carolina driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- three years recent paramedic experience with advanced life support unit
- ability to lift a minimum of 85 lbs regularly with strength up to 100 lbs
- must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification within six months
- ability to operate ambulance vehicles safely
- good hearing, speaking, and visual acuity
- ability to work under stressful conditions calmly
- exposure to infectious materials and environmental conditions as job demands
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current North Carolina State Paramedic certification
- current certification as a Critical Care Provider from an accepted institution
- FP-C or CCP-C certification through BCCTPC within 1 year
- current FP-C/CCP-C to function in flight paramedic capacity
- current certification in International Trauma Life Support or equivalent
- current Basic Cardiac Life Support pre-hospital provider certification
- current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
- completion of National Incident Management System courses 100, 200, and 700
- valid North Carolina driver’s license
- ability to obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification within 6 months of employment
- three years recent and concurrent paramedic experience with ALS unit
- thorough knowledge of emergency medical procedures and rescue techniques
- ability to work calmly under stressful conditions
- ability to communicate compassionately and professionally
- ability to maintain effective working relationships
- knowledge of age-specific patient needs
Job Duties
- Inspect, thoroughly clean, inventory, and restock the assigned ambulance and report equipment deficiencies
- assist in maintaining the building and grounds of assigned quarters in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
- respond to calls from assigned quarters and change locations when requested by a supervisor or dispatcher
- receive and answer calls following medical protocols and standard operating procedures
- promptly correct any identified deficiencies per department standards, policies, and procedures
- ensure all medical records, patient information, radiographs, and transfer authorizations accompany patients from referring to accepting facilities
- perform other duties as assigned
