Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum two years server experience in upscale restaurant
- legal age to serve alcohol
- valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit, CARE for Servers Card or TIPS Card or willingness to attend class and pass test with minimum 90% score
- excellent communication skills in English
- ability to perform basic math operations
- basic computer skills including Micros system
- ability to maintain professional appearance and grooming
- ability to handle stress and work in fast-paced environment
- ability to lift at least 25 lbs and push approximately 50 lbs
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- availability to work flexible part-time shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Effectively interact and communicate in English with people from diverse backgrounds
- read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- write simple correspondence in English
- present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- compute rate, ratio and percent
- apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- deal with problems involving few concrete variables
- demonstrate ability to utilize a computer
- possess knowledge of Micros
- be of legal age to serve alcohol
- possess a valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit, CARE for Servers Card or TIPS Card or willingness to attend class and pass test
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- at least two years server experience in upscale restaurant
Job Duties
- Serve 3 - 4 tables and take and deliver food and beverage orders
- offer suggestions and recommendations on wine and food pairings
- maintain specific side-work and ensure cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
- clear and reset tables
- treat all guests to ensure complete satisfaction
- strive to exceed guests' expectations
- report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene
- demonstrate complete knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- handle cash and guest check settlement
- maintain a positive attitude
- handle stressful situations effectively
- show respect for guests and associates
- exemplify leadership skills
- be mindful of time away from station
- perform other duties as assigned
