Job Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 3 years experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews
  • Possess excellent leadership skills and ability to handle stressful situations and multi-task
  • Has basic knowledge of trees including identification and correct arboricultural techniques near energized conductors
  • Knows and understands ANSI Z133.1-2000 standards
  • Has basic knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read circuit maps
  • Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing with the public, customers, and employees
  • Enforces on-the-job safety practices
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment
  • Needs to enter and exit vehicles numerous times per day
  • Must withstand exposure to all weather conditions including rain, heat, sun, cold, and snow
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend job instructions
  • Must communicate professionally and represent Wright Tree Service appropriately
  • Able to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies including holidays and weekends
  • Able to operate and service all required tools and equipment
  • Must have valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and pass pre-employment drug test
  • Possesses valid medical card to drive company vehicles 10,001 lb GVWR or greater
  • Maintains herbicide applicator or operator certification and license as required
  • Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience on tree trimming or clearing crews
  • Basic knowledge of trees and arboricultural techniques related to energized conductors
  • Knowledge of ANSI Z133.1-2000 tree care operations standards
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and reading circuit maps
  • Strong leadership and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to enforce safety policies and use personal protective equipment
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to work extended hours including emergency overtime
  • Valid commercial driver’s license and medical card
  • Certified herbicide applicator or operator license
  • Current First-Aid and CPR certification

Job Duties

  • Supervises a line clearance crew and plan daily work
  • Assigns work to individual crew members and directs work flow according to accepted line clearance practices
  • Recognizes poisonous plants and follows proper safeguard procedures
  • Enforces safe work practices and conducts safety training per company and OSHA policies
  • Obtains permission from property owners for tree trimming, removal, and herbicide application
  • Maintains good customer and public relations through effective work and employee behavior
  • Keeps accurate records including timesheets and reports of crew performance
  • Interprets tree trimming and chemical application orders involving understanding of power line drawings and symbols
  • Conducts safety training and controls crew costs through effective resource management
  • Makes operational decisions considering weather conditions and work safety
  • Ensures safety of employees and the public by setting up barriers and coordinating with authorities
  • Inspects and maintains trucks and work equipment, requesting repairs as needed
  • Performs emergency work actions to restore services during hazards and storms
  • Trims and removes trees using climbing equipment or ground tools
  • Applies herbicides to prevent plant regrowth
  • Loads and unloads debris and operates wood chippers
  • Repairs minor property damages caused during work activities
  • Services tools and equipment
  • Directs traffic and operates trucks as assigned
  • Trains new employees on procedures and safety practices
  • Works safely near hazardous equipment and energized power lines
  • Wears necessary personal protective equipment
  • Works in various weather conditions and terrains
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned
