Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of job related experience
- Driver’s license required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of related custodial experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Knowledge of efficient cleaning procedures and APPA Level 1 cleaning standards
- Ability to plan and manage custodial supplies, equipment, and temporary help
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions independently
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work under time constraints
- Valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Organizes, supervises and conducts special event cleaning activities
- Conducts routine inspection of restrooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, office spaces, stairwells, event spaces, entry ways, and elevators to ensure cleanliness standards
- Responsible for performing cleaning tasks at the University Student Union, Russell House and Thomas Cooper Library
- leads small team of custodial workers in maintaining APPA Level 1 Cleaning Levels
- Operates cleaning equipment, empties trash/recycling containers, cleans all public and office spaces, stairwells, and elevators
- Prepares and maintains a variety of routine custodial reports and records
- proficient in MS Office programs
- Observes, logs and reports maintenance deficiencies and repairs to other Facilities Department units
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Confers with building supervisor regarding planning and prioritizing care and cleaning, corrective and disciplinary actions for custodial staff
