Job Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 3 years experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews
  • possesses excellent leadership skills
  • has basic knowledge of trees and arboricultural techniques
  • knows ANSI Z133.1-2000 standards
  • basic knowledge of electrical circuits
  • ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
  • enforces on-the-job safety practices
  • able to wear PPE
  • able to enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily
  • withstands exposure to all weather conditions
  • can read, write, and comprehend job instructions
  • able to communicate professionally and represent Wright Tree Service
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently
  • willing to work long hours and overtime including call-outs
  • able to operate and service tools and equipment
  • valid commercial driver’s license dependent on division
  • able to pass pre-employment drug test
  • valid medical card to drive company vehicles 10001 lb GVWR or greater
  • holds a valid CDL
  • maintains herbicide applicator certification and license
  • holds valid First-Aid and CPR cards

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of trees including identification and arboricultural techniques near energized conductors
  • understanding of American National Standards for Tree Care Operations ANSI Z133.1-2000
  • basic knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read circuit maps
  • professional communication skills
  • enforces safety practices
  • able to wear PPE
  • able to endure various weather conditions
  • strong reading and comprehension skills
  • professional representation of Wright Tree Service
  • ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently

Job Duties

  • Supervises a line clearance crew and plans daily work
  • assigns work for crew members and directs work according to line clearance practices
  • recognizes poisonous plants and uses safeguards
  • enforces safe work practices and conducts safety training
  • obtains permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and apply herbicides
  • promotes good customer and public relations
  • keeps accurate records and reports
  • interprets tree trimming, removal and chemical application orders
  • responsible for safety training of personnel
  • manages crew costs
  • determines when to start or stop work due to weather
  • safeguards employees and the public from hazards
  • inspects trucks, equipment, and tools and arranges repairs
  • responds to emergency situations to restore service
  • trims and removes trees using various equipment
  • uses appropriate tools to fell and split trees
  • sprays stumps and brush with herbicides
  • loads and unloads trucks and operates equipment
  • repairs minor damage to property
  • services tools and equipment
  • directs traffic and drives trucks
  • trains new employees
  • works near hazardous equipment and power lines
  • complies with personal protective equipment requirements
  • works in various weather conditions and terrain
  • performs other duties as assigned
