Job Requirements
- Has a minimum of 3 years' experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews
- possesses excellent leadership skills
- basic knowledge of trees and correct arboricultural techniques
- understands American National Standards for Tree Care Operations
- skilled in reading and understanding circuit maps
- communicates professionally with others
- enforces safety practices
- able to wear personal protective equipment
- able to enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily
- withstands exposure to all weather conditions
- reads and comprehends written and verbal instructions
- represents Wright Tree Service professionally
- can lift and move 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently
- able to work long hours and overtime including emergencies
- able to operate and service required tools and equipment
- has valid commercial driver's license and medical card
- maintains herbicide applicator license as required
- holds valid First-Aid and CPR certifications
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience on tree trimming or clearing crews or successful performance reviews
- basic knowledge of trees including identification and arboricultural techniques
- understanding of ANSI Z133.1-2000 standards
- basic knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read circuit maps
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- enforces job safety practices
- capable of wearing personal protective equipment
- ability to interpret job instructions
- professional communication with public and customers
- ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- able to work long hours and overtime including holidays and emergencies
- ability to operate and service tools and equipment
- valid commercial driver's license and medical card
- holds herbicide applicator or operator certification and license
- valid First-Aid and CPR cards
Job Duties
- Supervises a line clearance crew and plans daily work for crew
- assigns work for individual crew members and directs crew following line clearance practices
- recognizes poisonous plants and uses proper safety measures
- enforces safe work practices and conducts safety training
- obtains permission from property owners for tree work and herbicide application
- promotes good customer and public relations
- keeps accurate crew records, timesheets, and reports
- interprets tree trimming and chemical application orders
- responsible for safety training compliance
- controls crew costs and work methods
- decides on work start or stop during inclement weather
- safeguards employees and public with barriers and safety signs
- inspects and maintains trucks and equipment
- manages emergency hazard response and restoration work
- performs tree trimming and removal using various equipment
- sprays stumps and brush to prevent regrowth
- loads and unloads debris and operates chippers
- repairs minor damage to property
- services equipment and maintains work areas
- directs traffic and keeps work zones orderly
- trains new employees
- works safely around hazardous equipment and power lines
- endures exposure to all types of weather
- performs other related duties as assigned
