Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience in institutional quality cooking
  • Previous experience as a grill cook or line cook preferred
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to work Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to handle kitchen heat conditions
  • Temporary, non-benefited position

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience working in institutional quality cooking
  • Previous experience as a grill cook or line cook in a restaurant, retail dining, or campus food service environment preferred
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance

Job Duties

  • Maintain portion control, food quality, and visual presentation standards
  • Operate and maintain grill and related kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with university and state health department food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Accurately time and coordinate multiple orders to ensure prompt service through online and pickup systems
  • Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift and assist with daily opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Courtyard Kitchen, including proper food storage and labeling
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with staff
  • Support team members and assist in other kitchen duties as needed
