Job Requirements

  • a 2-year college degree or a 4-year college degree or a culinary degree
  • progressive experience in a hotel or related field with at least 5 years preferred
  • certification in food handlers, alcohol awareness, CPR and first aid
  • proficiency in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to evaluate options and make decisions quickly
  • ability to work under pressure and maintain composure

Job Qualifications

  • at least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, a 2-year college degree, and 3 or more years of related experience or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 to 2 years of related experience or a culinary degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • holds and maintains applicable certification requirements for the position to include food handlers, alcohol awareness, CPR and first aid
  • proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • able to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • maintains composure and objectivity under pressure
  • effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc, from disparate sources and adjust or modify to meet constraints as needed

Job Duties

  • assist in providing oversight of kitchen staff, outlets, banquet food display merchandising, and operations of Kitchen and Banquet departments, as required
  • work towards improving Café, Room Service, Lounge, and Banquet sales revenues to exceed budget in partnership with Food and Beverage Director and staff
  • understand the general organization of a hotel and the function of each department
  • communicate in a timely and efficient manner
  • assist Food and Beverage Director with forecasting and budgeting
  • maintain professional working relationships and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments
  • stay knowledgeable and aware of local competition and industry trends
