Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- Strive for at least five items in each bag while preventing damage
- Follow best practices for using reusable, plastic, and paper bags
- Assist in removing merchandise from customer's basket for checkout
- Offer to help customers load bags into their vehicles
- Perform basic shelf conditioning
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather and return bascarts to designated areas
- Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and parking lot
- Clean all areas inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- Know the store layout and locate products
- Conduct price checks for cashiers
- Reinforce store safety programs by identifying hazards and notifying management
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity with customer and company information
- Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
