Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- strive to bag at least five items while preventing damage
- follow best practices for using various types of bags including reusable, plastic, and paper
- assist customers by removing merchandise from bottom of baskets
- offer help loading groceries into customers' cars
- perform basic shelf conditioning
- inform customers about grocery specials
- return merchandise to store shelves
- gather and return bascarts to designated areas
- clean spills and collect trash inside store and in parking lot
- clean all areas inside and outside of store
- handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- understand store layout to locate products and conduct price checks for cashiers
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- inspect equipment for maintenance needs and notify management of repairs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
