Job Duties

  • Bag groceries at checkout for customers
  • Strive to bag a minimum of five items per bag while preventing damage
  • Follow best practices for bagging using various bag types including reusable, plastic, and paper
  • Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of their baskets
  • Offer help loading bags into customers' cars
  • Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking
  • Inform customers about current grocery specials
  • Return merchandise to store shelves
  • Gather and return baskets to designated areas
  • Clean spills and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot
  • Handle assembly of seasonal merchandise
  • Locate products and conduct price checks for cashiers
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Adhere to food safety regulations
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of maintenance needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
  • Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed
  • Perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
