Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- strive for at least five items in each bag while ensuring no damage
- follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags
- assist customers by removing merchandise from bottom of basket
- offer help loading bags into customers' cars
- perform basic shelf conditioning
- inform customers of grocery specials
- return merchandise to store shelves
- gather and return baskets to designated areas
- clean spills and pick up trash inside store and parking lot
- clean all areas inside and outside the store
- handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- understand store layout and conduct price checks for cashiers
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed
- create a welcoming environment by answering questions regarding products
- follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
