Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- strive for at least five items per bag while preventing damage
- follow best practices for using reusable, plastic, and paper bags
- assist customers in removing merchandise from bottom of basket
- offer to help load bags into customers' cars
- perform basic shelf conditioning
- inform customers of grocery specials
- return merchandise to store shelves
- gather and return baskets to designated areas
- clean spills and pick up trash inside store and parking lot
- clean all areas inside and outside the store
- handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management
- adhere to all food safety regulations
- perform preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and notify management of repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
