Job Duties
- Bagging groceries at check out for customers
- strive to bag at least five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged
- follow best practices for bagging using various types of bags including reusable, plastic, and paper
- assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of their cart for checkout
- offer help loading bags into customers' cars
- perform basic shelf conditioning duties
- inform customers of grocery specials
- return merchandise to store shelves
- gather baskets and return them to designated areas
- clean spills and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot
- clean all areas inside and outside the store
- handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers
- reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
- comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations
