- Basic knowledge of safety and food safety procedures
- Ability to understand store layout and pricing processes
Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- Strive to pack at least five items per bag without damaging contents
- Follow best practices for using reusable, plastic, and paper bags
- Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of baskets
- Help customers load their groceries into their cars
- Perform basic shelf conditioning
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather and return baskets to designated areas
- Clean spills and pick up trash inside store and parking lot
- Clean all areas inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers
- Comply with safety procedures and identify and report unsafe conditions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Follow local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek help when needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
