Job Requirements

- Basic knowledge of store layout and product locations
- Ability to operate basic equipment used in grocery stores

Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- Strive for at least five items per bag while ensuring no damage to contents
- Follow best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, and paper bags
- Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of baskets
- Offer help with loading bags into customers' cars
- Perform basic shelf conditioning
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather and return baskets to designated areas
- Clean spills and collect trash inside store and parking lot
- Clean all areas inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- Understand store layout to locate products and conduct price checks
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
