Job Duties
- Bag groceries for customers at checkout with care and efficiency
- Strive to bag at least five items per bag while preventing damage to contents
- Follow best practices for bagging using various types of bags including reusable, plastic, and paper
- Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of baskets for checkout
- Offer help loading grocery bags into customers' cars
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking
- Inform customers about grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather and return bascarts to designated areas
- Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot
- Maintain cleanliness of all areas inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise displays
- Locate products and conduct price checks to assist cashiers
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and store policies
- Inspect equipment for maintenance issues and notify appropriate personnel
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
