Job Duties
- Bag groceries for customers at checkout ensuring items are handled carefully
- Strive to bag at least five items per bag without damage
- Follow best practices for bagging various bag types including reusable, plastic, and paper
- Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of baskets
- Offer help loading bags into customer vehicles
- Perform basic shelf conditioning
- Inform customers of current grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather shopping carts and return them to designated areas
- Clean spills and collect trash inside and outside the store
- Clean all areas inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- Understand the store layout to locate products and conduct price checks
- Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
