- experience in environmental services, laboratory work, or regulated transport preferred
- knowledge of chain-of-custody procedures preferred
- familiarity with DOT/HAZMAT regulations (training may be provided) preferred
Job Duties
- Pick up and deliver environmental samples (water, soil, air, waste, etc.) according to established schedules and project needs
- be flexible with scheduling and traveling arrangements to ensure customer satisfaction
- safely transport equipment, supplies, test kits, and documentation between offices, client sites, and laboratories
- maintain accurate travel logs, delivery records, and chain-of-custody forms
- follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including those related to hazardous materials (if applicable)
- adhere to company safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental handling procedures
- properly store, secure, and protect samples to preserve integrity and prevent contamination
- inform supervisor within 3 days if ticketed or arrested for driving offenses outside of work, and immediately if on the job
- interact professionally with clients, vendors, lab personnel, and internal staff
- communicate delays, issues, or schedule changes promptly
- represent the company positively while on the road or visiting client sites
- operate and maintain company vehicles in safe working condition
- perform basic inspections (fuel, oil, tire pressure, cleanliness) and report maintenance needs
- ensure proper functioning of coolers, temperature control devices, and storage equipment used for sample transport
