Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • One year of customer service experience preferred
  • Demonstrates skills and competencies for safe job performance
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with patients and staff
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Practice universal precautions at all times
  • Knowledge of isolation, infection control, and safety procedures
  • Ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships

Job Duties

  • Transport medications, laboratory specimens, medical records, and patient belongings accurately and efficiently
  • Sort and organize specimens and medications for delivery
  • Deliver items between pharmacy, laboratory, nursing units, and physician offices within time standards
  • Operate the pneumatic tube system for medication delivery and separate items not suitable for tube transport
  • Communicate professionally with patients, staff, and co-workers
  • Document delivery trips accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Adhere to safety protocols and assist in quality improvement initiatives
