Job Requirements
- One year experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
- Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire
- Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License upon hire
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
- Must be able to undergo pre-employment and random drug screening
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
- Flexible to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments subject to various weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- One year experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
- Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire
- Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License upon hire
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and pass a basic math test
- Knowledge of menu offerings including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation
- Knowledge of beverage selection including wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong commitment to the organization
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the public and attend to customer needs
- Adaptability to work in dynamic and fast-paced environments maintaining composure under pressure
- Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene
- Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food and drink preservation
- Knowledge of tribal, federal, state and local sanitary regulations for preparation, maintenance, storage, and sales of food and drink
- Ability to work harmoniously with coworkers and supervisors
Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service and establish guest perception of exceptional hospitality and friendliness
- Manage guest orders ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to special requests while coordinating with kitchen and bar staff
- Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue through upselling and suggestive selling
- Adhere to all laws and regulations governing alcohol service including age verification and responsible beverage service
- Monitor and intervene service to guests who appear intoxicated and handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy while notifying an on-duty supervisor
- Maintain thorough knowledge of property information including restaurants, entertainment, lounges, marketing promotions, upcoming events, and local points of interest
- Process payments accurately and efficiently handling cash, credit card transactions and other forms of payment
- Perform opening and closing side work duties as assigned
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure property information is understood
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations and responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Work as part of a cohesive team assisting fellow team members foster a positive work environment
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and organization of dining areas including tables, chairs, and condiment stations
- Communicate with supervisors and managers regarding guest issues needing attention
- Report to work punctually according to assigned schedule
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned
- Serve as initial point of contact for guest inquiries in a courteous and attentive manner
- Reflect trust, comfort, and understanding by demonstrating empathy when problems occur
- Resolve guest issues in a timely manner ensuring guest satisfaction and exceeding expectations
- Build relationships with guests based on respect and confidence while maintaining a friendly demeanor
